How long have you been in business? Life's Big Events became an official company in November of 2003. Melissa started the company with high hopes and dreams, and she has achieved far more than she could ever have first imagined. This year is Life's Big Events sixth year in business! What types of photography services do you offer? Everything! In studio sessions, out door and location sessions- maternity, infant, pet, family, senior, event, corporate and weddings make up most of the photography we do. We also have done food photography, as well as landscapes.
How much experience do you have? Picking up a camera and constantly practicing our skill is incredibly important to us. In the first three years of business Melissa photographed over 100 weddings and that was three years ago! Since then she has branched out her portfolio into other areas as well as weddings, so we lost track of her official wedding count. Melissa has also volunteered at a local hospital for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS), which provides infant bereavement photography services for parents through participating hospitals. For the last five years Melissa and her daughters have provided photography associated services to the Maine Handicapped Skiing for their major events.
As Melissa's daughter, Lindsay has witnessed the growth and achievements of Life's Big Events. She began helping Melissa from the very beginning working various bridal shows and volunteer events. This summer will be Lindsay's fourth year as an official photographer with Life's Big Events. Starting out as an assistant, Lindsay has built an incredible photography portfolio. She has taken courses at the Maine College of Art and the New England Institute for Professional Photographers. She has been a member of the Professional Photographers of America since 2007. What are Web-Only Images? The CD of images we provide to you is for your personal use to e-mail and share with friends on the internet and your home computer. For most standard photography sessions we mark our images with our business name. Do not remove this from your images when you post them online; if we have not marked our images please give us photography credit wherever you post them online. They are not intended to be printed at home or by other printers. Wal-mart and other print companies will refuse to print your images without a signed copyright release form. What are copyrights? Don't we own the copyright to photographs of us? As photographers and citizens of the United States, we are automatically granted the copyright to our photographs. This means that we own the copyright to any photograph we take. You are not automatically granted the copyright of the photographs we take of you unless we grant you th explicit permission to use our photographs. That means that you cannot take the photographs that you receive from us and print them or use them online or enter them into competitions without our permission. Don't panic - we are giving you images on CD with a limited usage license. The usage license we give to you is based upon the services you purchase from us; the usage license we provide with our wedding packages is different from that which we provide with our standard photography sessions.

We do not charge traveling fees within three hours of Scarborough (or Lewiston for videography).
